The first post in the “I hate Lotus Notes” blog must off course be about the F5/F9 mishap. Let me explain this for those of you not familiar with these functional buttons. In every application that needs to be refreshed, updated or needs repeated functionality such as send/receive the “F5″-button is doing the trick.

For some reason one Notes developer decided to assign this functionality to the “F9″-button. Confusing, but not the end of the world. But now the developer had an “F5″-button to do something with. What to do… Aha! Let’s log out the user every time he presses “F5″ by mistake, trying to refresh the inbox!

I can’t imagine the amount of acid that he must have eaten before this decision. And every time I press “F5″ I want to take the same shit. Do you think the developer have connections with the Colombian drug lords? Damn, I must check Conspiracy Planet! This could be huge!
